Beyond Academics

As we believe in the overall development of the students so it is not only academic but students are also given opportunity to participate in various cultural and sports activities. Celebration of cultural and sport meet is a regular annual feature in Guru Nanak Group of College. This year also cultural and sport meet were organized by the society from 18th March 2019 to 20th March 2019. Dr. Balwinder Singh Walia Chairman was the chief guest of the function. Many Celebrities like Sh. K K Bawa, Dharam Vir Singh SHO Dehlon visited the function. The Students participated in 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter and 4x100 meter race, fun races. Field events like long jump, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw. Students also took part in Games like Kho-Kho, volleyball, cricket and football. The students displayed karate, mesmerising the audience with their energetic performances. The main attraction of closing ceremony was Tug of war.                                                                                                                                         Inter college cultural meet was organized in the categories of Shabad recitation, solo song, group song, solo dance, group dance, skit and giddha. Guru Nanak College of Education, Gopalpur organized skill in teaching and on the spot teaching aid competition among various College of Education of Zonal (Zone-B) in collaboration with Punjab University Chandigarh. The subjects of the competition were Social Science, Commerce and Economics. During cultural meet Dr. Mukesh Arora sentor Punjab University Chandigarh was the chief guest. Chairman Guru Nanak Charitable Society Dr. Balwinder Singh Walia, Gen. Sec. Dr. Iqbal Singh Walia were also present there. Prizes and trophies were distributed to the winners. Principals of various school and college and Assistant professors of various colleges of Education were among the special guest of the day. The subjects of the competition were Social Science, Commerce and Economics. Dr. Y N Sharma Director welcomed on behalf of the college management and briefed about the various promotional activities being organized in the institution.
