Guru Nanak Ayurvedic College and Research Institute celebrated "World No Tobacco Day". Principal Dr. Ashwani Sharda raised awareness of the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use among all students and staff members. He discouraged the use of Tobacco in any form. This year, the theme of World No Tobacco Day 2021 is " commit to quit ". The principal organized a pledge-taking ceremony in a befitting manner following strict adherence to the Government Guidelines/protocols on COVID-19. Chairman Dr. Balwinder Singh Walia, General Secretary DR. Iqbal Singh Walia, Principal, and staff members all were present during this pledging ceremony.
Students of Guru Nanak College of Nursing, Gopalpur organized "World No tobacco day" in Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. Students created awareness among people about all the bad effects of using tobacco and discouraged the use of tobacco in any form.
As per direction of secretary Ayush Vaidya Shri Rajesh Kotecha a lecture was organised at Guru Nanak Ayurvedic Medical college and Research Institute under the theme of "Ayurveda for covid-19 Pandemic" to aware the students regarding Covid-19 manifestations and to specifically highlight the role of Preventive, Promotive, Curative and Rehabilition in Management of Covid-19 through Ayurveda.
Dr. Ashwani Sharda, Principal while addressing the students advised them to follow the protocols regarding Covid-19 i.e., Maintain social distancing,use masks and frequent hand washing.
Dr.Balwinder Singh Walia,President ,Dr.Iqbal Singh Walia,General Secretary and Dr. Y.N. Sharma,Director also addressed the students and gave their blessing to faculty and students. Dr. Walia furture suggested that such informative lecture should also be organised in near by schools and villages. So that general public and ruralites are benefited to save themselves from corona through Ayurveda.
