Guru Nanak Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Institute, Gopalpur organizes Guest Lectures every year in college campus on different topics for enhancements of student’s knowledge.

Recently Guest Lecture was organized on the topic “Integrated Protocol for Dermatology” on 27.Aug.2018 from 2.00 PM to 4:00 PM. Dr. Ajay Sharma, Assistant Professor in Department of Shalya Tantra was the resource person. The points discussed were integration using modern diagnostic & assessments, integration using Ayurvedic treatment modalities & Yoga. Emphasis was given on How individuality of each science is retained while maintaining integration & outcome measures with photographs. Patient’s history was discussed by showing photographs of various conditions like vltogo, lymphedema etc.

All the students from B.A.M.S attended the programee. At the end of lecture “Question Round” was there in which students asked questions regarding the topic & Dr. Ajay explained their queries very well. Our College Principal and faculty always take the initiative for conducting such type of Lectures for the benefit of students.

Guru Nanak College of Education, Gopalpur

Guru Nanak College of Education, Gopalpur conducted an extension lecture on Personality Development and Importance of values. It was organized by Guru Gobind Singh Study circle at college premises on 26th March, 2018.

Dr. Satbir Singh and Dr. Rupinder Singh from Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle shared their views regarding the development of personality and values inculcation. They quoted the examples of eminent personalities of the society. They motivated the students to do sehaj path of Guru Granth sahib.

Guest lecturers a classroom is a hub for exploring, analyzing and imbibing all that surrounds young and eager minds. Inviting guest speakers into a classroom is a very beneficial tool that should be utilized as much as possible. Guest lecturers help students improve their learning in a more interactive, topic specific way. These can be very helpful not only for the students, but can also contribute to the teacher’s knowledge and practices. Guest lecturers can be used to make classes more approachable and appealing to students. Few more benefits of guest lectures are:

Guru Nanak College of Nursing, Gopalpur has tie-up with various Professionals, Guess Lecturers, and Research Organizations for seminars & workshops. Through Seminars & Workshops, Students gets knowledge of their profession with experienced faculties & guests. Student gets the chance of group discussions & sharing views, asking doubts, explaining situations, solving puzzles, proving talents, etc. Such events are always encourages the students activity & inner hidden talents. In Guru Nanak College of Nursing Guest lectures are being offered twice in a month and it provides students with great opportunity to share their views sometimes like debate. In last guest lecturer the topic was the standards and protocols of Hospitals. The speaker for the session was Dr. Harvinder Kaur , Associate Professor, Jitendra Singh Dhakar , She has demonstrated this with lots of examples and videos on: Identify patients correctly, improve effective communication, improve the safety of high alert medications, ensure correct site, correct procedure, and correct patient surgery, and reduce the risk of health care associated infection and reduction of patient harm resulting from falls. All the nursing staff and students attended that guest lecture.
